Indian screenwriter and director Alankrita Shrivastava, born on August 21, 1979, in Delhi, made her directorial debut in 2011 with the film ‘Turning 30.’ Shrivastava shifted to Mumbai after completing her studies in filmmaking at Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi. In Mumbai, she worked as an associate director for Prakash Jha and assisted him on several projects, including ‘Apharan’ (2005) and ‘Rajneeti’ (2010). She gained fame for her black comedy ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ that was released in 2016. The film had its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival in the same year and was applauded worldwide. Shrivastava, a leading contemporary writer-director, is also the co-writer and director of the first season of the show ‘Made in Heaven’ that airs on Amazon Prime Video.
